Ancient Wisdom
The Greeks and Romans reveal everything about life. I am amazed how brilliant they were, everytime I read one of their quotes. “We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”
– Plato
There is nothing new under the sun of matter or substance. Yes, we have better technology, better “material comforts” – but for what benefit in terms of what matters in life? Like always, as our comforts grow our values decline to ground zero.
That’s why the ancient civilizations we so smart but imploded anyway. They knew that there was nothing new under sun and never would be.
Our empire is at an end and the wisdom of the previous sojourners long lost – so when you read about it, you go “damn, were they smart!”
