a tour of Tiksi
Greetings From Kamchatka!
Yesterday morning, I arrived in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Yes, it’s a mouthful, but it’s also a place I’ve wanted to come to for over 30 years. It’s a place as dynamic as it’s shape on a map. Today, I had my first day of alpine skiing this season, in a location as beautiful as could be, skiing down almost to the edge of the sea.
Of course, there will be more about Kamchatka later. For now, there are photos and stories to share of a very cold and windy far northern place. Here’s the link to photos from Tiksi:
editor’s note : for full effect and to see the descriptions in the photos

Regardless of state politics, here’s to individually fostering friendship, communication and understanding with people everywhere.

GB I havent even looked at the photos yet but ..My gut hurts from laughing at your description of your encounters with the authorities in Tiksi !
Still shaking my head here …”and I got a fish ! ”
LOLOLO…LOLOL
I like the minimalist style of these arctic scenes. Especially the shot from the plane at the end, looks like a ghost city. I was looking at some photos last night on Google Map in Oman and a couple panoramic shots of the desert looked just like arctic snow scenes. It’s funny how two completely different extremes can be similar. Thanks for posting.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they they will receive – a fish?
Marvelous adventure, GB. Thanks for sharing.
Good one! You’ve got to admit, it’s far better than nothing!
You’re most welcome, SF. Glad to know you continue to enjoy the adventures.
