President Donald Trump will find a way to bypass the constitutional two-term limit and run again in 2028, former White House strategist Steve Bannon has said.
The 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution states that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” Bannon, who has been one of Trump’s early supporters and led his 2016 election campaign, has argued that Trump would be able to secure a third term.
“I’m a firm believer that President Trump will run again in 2028. I’ve already endorsed President Trump,” Bannon told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday.
“A man like this comes along once every century if we’re lucky. We’ve got him now. He’s on fire, and I’m a huge supporter. I want to see him again in 2028,” he added.
Asked how Trump would bypass the constitutional ban on a third term, Bannon replied, “We’re working on it.”
“I think we’ll have a couple of alternatives, let’s say that. We’ll see what the definition of term limit is,” the former Breitbart News chairman said.
“We’ve had greater longshots than Trump 2028. We’ve got a lot of stuff we’re working on. We’re not prepared to talk about it publicly.
When asked if he was implying a violent revolution or an insurrection, Bannon said, “No. We are big believers in democracy.” The strategist said that the Trump supporters intend to mobilize their voting base, including low-propensity and low-information voters.

Wanna bet? People will be so sick of Trump by then they will vote for a Democrat moron over him. JD should lay low after a year or so. At some point he’s going to have to separate himself from Trump. Not in a disrespectful manner, but in an “I’m my own man” manner.
I may be the only one who has this opinion, but Trump has already lost a step. I’m not saying he’s Biden, but he’s beginning to fade, if only slightly. He’s getting old.
I hope JD has pull with the folks around Trump. I think he does. A leader needs to emerge to protect populist gains. That would be most likely with a seamless transition to a trusted protege. For that to work there needs to be considerable harmony among the various Trump forces. JD has a kind of modesty about him which should make him less threatening to those who would protect the President. As political opposition gets more intense, Trumps people will coalesce to protect him. One hopes they do not ostracize JD.
For those of you who are DeSantis people – I know you’re out there – he’s no longer a national force. His ambition and ego were used by powerful RINOs to seduce him into briefly contesting Trump. It was suicidal. He is dead as a national Republican force. It’s Trump’s party, and he ain’t in it. Fuckin’ dummy could have had it all! It worked out great though!
