If the BRICS, at some point, back an international currency with their gold, they will demand proof of these huge American holdings. Considering the corruption of everything within the U.S. government, and its purview, the chances of Fort Knox being that hole in the ground with a liar standing next to it, are pretty good. There will be hell to pay!
When the next economic crisis presents itself(very soon) Congress will pass the necessary legislation to make this happen as oppossed to passing another giant rescue bill of trillions of new spending which was always the response to previous episodes.
