President Donald Trump has told NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that he would like the US-led military bloc to assist Washington in “securing” Greenland following their negotiations in the Oval Office on Thursday.
Trump initially proposed buying the Danish autonomous territory during his first term in 2019 and has reignited the discussion after returning to office. Speaking at a recent joint session of Congress, he stated that the US will secure the island “one way or the other.”
Asked by journalists on Thursday about his “vision on the potential annexation of Greenland,” Trump stated, “I think it will happen.”

Imagine, Europe and America plot to wreck Russia, and steal its resources. The plan blows up in their faces. Europe goes home impoverished, cut off from its energy supply, and at odds with both the U.S. and Russia. America goes home unburdened by European commitments, and ends up with Greenland and the second biggest country in the world as consolation prizes. The mind boggles!
All he has to say for Canada is that Canadians endangered the lives of Millions of American citizens by threatening to turn off their electricity in the depths of winter – clearly this was an act of war towards the US.
In order to defend their citizens, they HAD to send troops over the border to ensure that those evil communist Canadians were not allowed to terrorize his people. (Isn’t this the same story as Russia/Ukraine).
It’s ONLY about protecting his people — not because Trump wants Canada’s water and other resources in order to MAGA!

He’s not running again. Maybe he doesn’t give a shit that we’re a bunch of lefties. If he does manage to annex us and Greenland, he will go down as one of the great presidents.
Or perhaps Trump will find a way to make “whatever” Canada votes for irrelevant to the existing 50 states — ie one electoral college vote for Canada, one Congressmand and one Senator –> total rounding errors and by the time he makes any of this happen the Democrat party will be extinct so the socialist/communist influence of a Liberal style government would be easily managed.
