Army helicopter was alerted to plane’s presence two minutes before collision – Washington Post
It was the first of two warnings before the crash that left 67 people feared dead, radio transmissions show. A member of the Black Hawk helicopter crew responded each time by saying that he could see the plane and requested “visual separation,” meaning the helicopter crew would maintain a safe distance. Each time, the request was approved.

WAS THIS HELICOPTER REMOTELY CONTROLLED BY NEFARIOUS ACTORS ? ?
Either that or the pilot was on a suicide mission.
Some explanations clarify that the pilot was not referring to the same plane.
ATC should have specified CRJ using runway 33 (which pilots try to avoid using for this reason)
ATC should have said CHANGE COURSE NOW. (or altitude)
