Assisted dying now accounts for one in 20 Canada deaths
Medically-assisted dying – also known as voluntary euthanasia – accounted for 4.7% of deaths in Canada in 2023, new government data shows.
The country’s fifth annual report since euthanasia was legalised in 2016 showed around 15,300 people underwent assisted dying last year after being successful in their applications.
This is a meaningless stat
All these people were already on death row .
They die a few weeks or months sooner to stop the pain and anguish in MOST cases .
I still do not see a problem with this
My Body My choice
Forcing people to live who for whatever reason have decided they dont want to is INHUMANE !
Agreed 100%, FGC. It’s an individual choice. The overwhelming majority elect to do it because they are suffering immensely. If they don’t want to carry on like that, I don’t blame them nor do I have a problem with the concept of assisted death.
And I know I’m going to get screamed at by a few religious forum members, but I’m perfectly okay with abortion too. A child should be loved and wanted. There are far too many out there who are neither, and these are often the ones who cause societal problems. If people are going to convince a woman to bear a child she does not want or is ill-equipped to raise, then they should be prepared to offer her plenty of assistance to raise that child.
Neither of these are unreasonable positions GMG
I do believe that Abortion should be done early though
most people agree …Not in the third Trimester
Ya I didn’t mean the third trimester, I meant earlier.
