I imagine both sides use the “Shrapnel” Drone. Basically an effective device that can hover over an enemy platoon. Send out a swarm of decoys mixed with live as they drop the payload. Most troops just bleed out on the battlefield with few survivors to give medical assistance.
Very effective when the troop location is identified, a smoke bomb is released, the swarm goes in and “Boom!”. Who the hell wants to enter the meat grinder.
Tank battle may be obsolete against Drones.
