I’ve long believed that Canada Post is being kept alive merely to keep the obscene pension programs afloat. Government subsidies don’t give service to people, but they pay those pensions! Who the fuck uses the mail other than businesses that don’t pay the costs?
In the US, its grown to enable the election fraud. And as a political patronage facility.
IMO, these locations should be repurposed to (also) handle specialized solid waste recycling — batteries, light bulbs, electronics. Maybe tires/tyres too.
All Governments in the West have grown their number of employees. It’s dependency. For one’s job and the ultimate pension.
The growth in Pension Funds has enabled Blackrock, State Street and Vanguard to gain power.
At some point in the future, it all collapses and UBI administered with a CBDC will be embraced by the masses. The ultimate control and we can all imagine where that leads us. Knowing their goal, we understand their method. A collapse is desired by the Deep State.

Can DOGE turn this around during Trump’s first 2 years? I have no idea but regardless of which Party won the election, a reckoning will have to take place. Something that took decades to get us to the position we are in now, can not be solved quickly without extreme hardship.
Speaking of the Postal system, most of us have switched to email statements and invoices for services. All we receive now is advertising with the odd Birthday or Christmas card. We don’t look at the flyers. There will come a day when the Postal service is discontinued and the Couriers take 100% of the parcel delivery. That is efficiency.
Speaking of Pensions, a neighbour had a career in the Provincial Civil Service. At 55 she could receive a full pension. So what does she do? She collects the pension and takes a contract position doing the same job. Now pulls in twice what she collected before and works from home. She told me this is common practice. I can think of a simple rule to eliminate double dipping. Thankfully, she won’t live a long life collecting her “rewards”, care of the people, due to a poor lifestyle and 5+ shots.
When we submit our Taxes, I ask myself, “what’s the point?” Government debt keeps growing regardless of how much we pay.
