   Remember the days before you had a credit card.
   You had to save up to purchase a large item.
   Needless to say, consumerism wasn’t a thing then.
   You thought twice about a purchase.

   I read these articles like this one and ask myself are they seriously kidding about this? Can half the population really be on the edge of insolvency? It beggars belief. Credit and consumption have destroyed the lives of millions. And for what benefit? To have shelves of stuff you need to lug around each time you move, build security around and keeep locked up when its just cheaper to put all that junk in a big pile and burn it up. What a way to lead your life. I have not had credit in two decades and glad I stayed out of that market. But what its done to others is simply astonishing.
