German Defense Chief Calls For War Readiness By Decade’s End
We recently outlined how conscription is coming back to Europe, amid breathless calls from NATO officials for Western publics to ‘prepare’ for the possibility of war with Russia.
While Germany abolished conscription in 2011, some Berlin officials are calling for the system to be gradually rebuilt, with leaders of the German Christian Democratic Party having recently brought up the idea of reintroducing compulsory military service.
On Wednesday German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius kept the ball rolling toward this end, saying during a session of parliament, “We must be ready for war by 2029.”

The NATO march into war continues unabated………….
Complete nonsense. They haven’t the economy to support a military resurgence, they haven’t the societal unity to forge a new consensus, they haven’t the fuel sources for any grand military campaigns, and they haven’t the fortitude to take on a serious foe like Russia. What they have, I suspect, is a plan for militarized police forces to control angry, pre-revolutionary citizens.
Good Points and if they are building their “military” now it will only be a matter of time until they can take on those pesky citizens!
Fascism is on full display these days!
This is just an observation not based on fact.
The West does not appear to be ready to ramp up for a major conflict. No draft.
Many have commented that the West was throwing old outdated systems at the war to use them up. My guess is that there are large stockpiles of new generation weapons ready to use but they may take time to position them in that theatre.
Russia is in full battle mode, arms production and experience.
If the West geared up over time, it would be no contest with 800 million+ vs 150 million in a straight conventional war. In a nuclear exchange the odds are even but with no sane winners.
The great unknown is who would align with Russia from the BRICS+.
In a conventional war a Russia, India and China coalition would have a distinct advantage over the West in manpower (3 Billion), energy and weapons. Logistics too if one or two countries allowed passage of supply over land. They have large standing armies and are prepared.
The west could gear up for the next twenty years and they still couldn’t defeat Russia on the European land mass. Russia is so far ahead of the west in missile and air defence technology that the west will never catch up. Foreign troops and material would be sunk before reaching Europe, and Western Europes military bases – including troops – and it’s industrial base would be destroyed. Defeating Russia has been the dream of megalomaniacs for hundreds of years. Perhaps fifty years from now China will try their hand.
