It would be a mistake. Kennedy would be running to be the next president from the start. Trump would be better off putting him in a defined role, perhaps going after the deep state intelligence agencies, or the corrupt health agencies. Trump will need a tight ship as he will be governing in stormy waters. The economy will likely be disastrous, with an overwhelming imperative to severely cut expenditures. People turn against a president during hard times. Trump will be a conquering hero when he regains the presidency, but his popularity won’t last long. I hope he’s grown to be the type of leader who can take the slings and arrows while committing to essential fundamental changes. He will only have one term, so it’s best if he regards posterity more highly than popularity. His history indicates that he won’t.

Also, 45 is effectively signing onto RFK’s platform on the vax, since that’s his calling card.
Its also giving RFK some measure of respect, NOT TO BE LEFT OUT OF THAT conversation, even if he’s really not in it by all other accounts.
As others have suggested, AG would be good. Fix DOJ and lend a hand at FDA, CDC, NIH, etc.

Good points, pd. Regarding ’28, I would think Trump will choose his VP nominee with that in mind. In other words, he will choose someone to continue the fight against the deep state, and cement his legacy. I believe Kari Lake would be a great choice, although I’ve begun to wonder if Trump might consider his son Don Jr. Trump will be unfettered this time around. He probably figures that whatever he does will be met with over-the-top criticism, so go for the gusto!
