They’ll stay as long as they can benefit. NATO is finished five minutes after the SMO ends, but Putin has been pulling Erdogan away from Europe for a while now. No doubt they have a loose arrangement that allows Turkey to be rewarded for screwing the west. Erdogan’s stock in trade is to play both ends against the middle. Putin understands him, and Erdogan understands the west.
