The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 69% of Likely U.S. voters believe accusations of foreign influence peddling by Biden and his family are a serious scandal, including 52% who say it’s a Very Serious scandal. Twenty-six percent (26%) don’t think the accusations are a serious scandal, including 15% who say it’s Not At All Serious. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters believe it is likely that Joe Biden personally profited from such a deal, including 44% who think it’s Very Likely. Twenty-nine percent (29%) don’t think it’s likely the president profited from a “pay-for-play scheme,” including 15% who say it’s Not At All Likely.

Biden’s son Hunter Biden has been a focus of investigations, but Comer said in a Sunday interview the scandal “is not just about the president’s son. This is about the entire Biden family, including the president of the United States.”
Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters agree with Comer’s statement, including 51% who Strongly Agree the scandal “is about the entire Biden family.” Twenty-eight percent (28%) disagree, including 18% who Strongly Disagree with Comer’s statement.
Eighty-seven percent (87%) of Republicans, 43% of Democrats and 72% of voters not affiliated with either major party at least somewhat agree with Comer’s statement that the scandal “is about the entire Biden family.”
Eighty-five percent (85%) of Republicans, 44% of Democrats and 65% of unaffiliated voters think it’s at least somewhat likely that Joe Biden personally profited from a “pay-for-play scheme.”
Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans, 49% of Democrats and 72% of unaffiliated voters believe accusations of foreign influence peddling by Biden and his family are at least a somewhat serious scandal.
Sixty-seven percent (67%) of whites, 75% of black voters and 72% of other minorities think the Biden family’s foreign-influence scandal is at least somewhat serious. Black voters are significantly less likely to Strongly Agree with Comer’s statement that the scandal “is about the entire Biden family.”
Thirty-seven percent (37%) of voters under 40 consider the accusations of foreign influence peddling by Biden and his family to be a Very Serious scandal, compared to 59% of those ages 40-64 and 57% of voters 65 and older.
Men (72%) are slightly more likely than women voters (65%) to think the Biden influence peddling scandal is at least somewhat serious.
Breaking down the electorate by income categories, those in the highest bracket – earning more than $200,000 are most likely to say it is Very Likely that Joe Biden personally profited from a “pay-for-play scheme.”
At a time when President Biden is negotiating with Congress over the debt ceiling, most voters don’t think the government is using tax dollars wisely, and would prefer a smaller government.
A majority of Democratic voters would back President Biden for the party’s 2024 nomination, despite their admiration for challenger Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
