You are right they want to turn back the clock. A great many more things will be done by hand the old fashioned way in the future. That preserves work and keeps hands busy at the same time. So we will once again see the days of trees being clipped with small shears, lawns being mowed by razor sharp hand-scythes and dishes being cleaned one at a time. Better than watching a bunch of Zombies tapping out text on their smart phones from dawn to dusk!

Wait until they take away your electric can opener and you have to go back to those old fashioned scissors type to feed Mrs Kitty cat her dinner. The whole idea here is to reverse automation and ease in the home and take away cherished appliances one by one. Who will stop them when its outlawed and your neighbors are the people who turn you in for cooking with gas or blowing leafs around with your snow plow?
Next it will be wood chippers and of course we can’t have Go-Carts anymore either. For that matter your Roto Tiller may be on the execution block along with those one man operated snow blowers so you will have to shovel the old fashion way or actually dig your land by hand to plant potatoes…….like they do in the Third World!

Of course you will comply. There is not going to be an option because its regulation. Stores will not sell the equipment any longer at risk of penalty. Online sellers will be shut down electronically for offending or have their rights withdrawn at Amazon and related sales sites. Only the second hand market will thrive but over time the number of units will naturally decline until there are almost none. When its the law people tend to follow it because they hate consequences and they hate fines. Don’t forget with electronic metering your house will be spying on you so its not like most people can get away with using contraband equipment for very long. Best to just roll up your sleeves and get your hands wet. LOL

Whatever LARGE state sets the toughest standards forces industry to make that the nationwide standard rather than have variations state by state.
Recently read that whatever laws CA adopts one year, frequently means the same law gets passed in CO the next. My hunch is that if CA insists on X for a dishwasher, that becomes the design for the entire US market, which likely then forces LG in Korea to implement that in many of their export markets, not just the US. Its NOT isolated in its impact.
