I have been able to anticipate what gold is likely to do by watching what my favorite gold canary does. It has probably been about ten years since I came across and started watching the daily trading behavior of Royal Gold.(RGLD) It has been just about perfect in telegraphing and confirming where gold is going next. The few times where I remained bullish when RGLD started correcting for more than a day or two are the times when I should have gotten more short term cautious. Royal touched a slightly new ATH last week on Thurs. morning before correcting and then stabilizing on Friday. It had a back test and gap fill of the gap created in the Thurs. morning opening, before the metals were sold off on the Comex. I will be watching to see where RGLD goes on Monday and the rest of the week. If it goes higher, which would be new ATH territory, without reversing and selling off, you can be sure gold will be following in that direction soon after. Either way, I will be taking my cues from what the gold canary has to say.
