Green Shoots
Editor’s Note : In case you mist this in this mornings postings..The Adventures Of Goldballoon Continues
Spring Greetings!
As much as I enjoy the winter, I appreciate the arrival of spring at least as much. This year, spring didn’t so much arrive as I went to where it already was. On Sakhalin Island, I saw my first green shoots and first wildflowers of the year. Life bursting forth is always an amazing thing for me to experience, any time of year.
Here are two small galleries from my visits to Sakhalin and Vladivostok:

It has been good to spend some almost-spring days in Moscow, after having had the experience two months ago of winter here. Today, I’m traveling. I am posting these galleries a little prematurely, as I have not had enough time to add descriptions to the photos before having to leave. More information will be added as soon as possible. In the meantime, you’ll just have to use your imagination. Happy Spring!
Wow…Vladivostok….what a Vibrant City
Who Knew ??
Well, I knew, because I had been there before 😉
You might remember this gallery from 2019, when I spent 6 months crossing Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railroad (a trans railroad? in Russia???), with many side trips in Central Asia:

That Nutcracker Venue is incredible. They really take their Arts seriously
The art of war, too…
The Nutcracker was a wonderful performance! The segment that was the biggest hit with everyone, according to the applause, and definitely with me, was in Act II, Pas de Deux – Intrada. The choreography was very different than in the video linked below and better, as far as I’m concerned. The dance itself and the music were somehow richer, deeper, maybe a smidgeon slower. Part of it was her technique, part was possibly that she only danced with the lead male in this part, not with five. Anyway, the music and the stage performers were tops. I liked my front row center seat, above the orchestra pit.
