The RESTRICT ACT – You Could be Jailed or Fined Just for Being Yourself…

I know I sound like I am exaggerating. I wish I were.
Ladies & Gentlemen………. FACEBOOK JAIL was just the training wheels.
The S.686 Restriction Act
*Modems, Routers, Mobile networks, VPNs (personal phones, laptops, etc)… Are BANNED if used to contact any “foreign adversaries” (such as Korea, China, Cuba, Iran) Also this is subject to change, meaning anywhere in Europe could be next if deemed “appropriate”) If you have friends of family overseas – say goodbye!
*If you are found using a method to bypass banned content, you are now a criminal.
*If this bill is PASSED. The government has the liberty to appoint a secretary of communication to create a small group that can ban/deem ANYTHING inappropriate or risk to security (VOTERS CANNOT HAVE INPUT ON THEIR DECISIONS).
*The Bill gives our government the power to monitor any activity used by the devices listed above (including home cameras). (ESSENTIALLY, without even informing us, if they deem appropriate)

“(VOTERS CANNOT HAVE INPUT ON THEIR DECISIONS)”
Only the government will get to vote now. And there won’t be a lot of votes to count. We could all be “elected” to jail real fast!
This is as backward as it gets. Government by the Government for the Government.
And this is precisely the kind of action one would take if the intention was to turn one of the most technologically advanced nations on the planet back to a developing country. Because the obvious means by which to avoid risk for the average person will be to abandon the use of laptops, mobile phones, Ring cameras, monitored security systems, modems and the like along with anything that might even have the slightest possibility of being a reason the government could intrude into your home.
This is also the wake up call to those fools who kept saying “I have nothing to hide” when you warned them their devices were spying on them. Well no dear, you don’t have anything to hide. But of course you also have no idea why the authorities are collecting so much data about you. So naturally you have no clue about why leaving yourself open to constant uninvited surveillance is a massive risk.
It won’t happen overnight, but the devolution of technology inside the home is about to get underway as some people slowly cotton on and start reducing their electronic footprint and profile. Televisions that spy on you? Bye Bye…..Nest cameras that record your every move without your knowledge or consent…..see you later. The phone that sits and silently records every word you utter day and night…..get it the f*&% out my house!
This is absolutely predictable. Sometimes government operates without a brain for the consequences that follow their new laws. The whole reason we willingly use electronic gear is because we have trust. Remove trust from the equation and consumption of certain kinds of devices will fall sharply.
