Some basic questions. Why do we need an organization to make judgements about the accuracy and or trustworthiness of news sources? The answer is we DON’T. Only the government and corporations who constantly lie about their policies and or products, need to control the narrative. They can’t rely on the free market place of ideas to do the job, because people allowed to hear ALL the information about a policy or product can determine for themselves what is true, or false, beneficial or harmful based on their own understanding and experience. If you are the government, you want to control the narrative about topics like Covid, Ukraine, the economy etc. So you give contracts to organizations like this and to the MSM companies, to promote your agendas and discredit the truth whenever it goes against your narrative.(almost always) Instead of having agencies like the FDA and EPA,  that originally did a fairly good job in trying to protect the public from harmful food, drug and cosmetic products, they have all become victims of regulatory capture. Enough political influence has been bought with campaign contributions and revolving door employment opportunities to render these agencies and almost all others, not just inefective from their original purpose but actually harmful to the health and safety of the public. Sunlight is the best disenfectant and the public can decide for themselves what is true or false, harmful or helpful and this site among others, helps provide lots of information to reach those decisions. We don’t need any  government or self appointed arbitors of the truth.                                                                                                                          https://www.zerohedge.com/political/newsguard-misinfo-watchdog-contracts-dod-who-pfizer-microsoft-aft
