   Firing Squads? Oh my. The public might vote for it only to end up on the wrong end of the barrel. Does anyone trust government anymore? Trump says he will hang drug dealers. After that who? Christians and the unvaxxed? Don’t forget that anyone who disgrees with the CDC and Dr Fauci is a terrorist. No thanks. Not a good idea to bring back the death penalty during an age when all major forces appear to be trying to kill off the population. They will just legitimize a way to use it against their enemies as soon as the tool is available and needed. Judges are wholly corrupt. Alex Jones would be the first to get shot. You just know its true.

   Go to any major city, and you will find teen age girls desperately selling their bodies because the are hooked on fentanyl. That crap is ferociously addictive, and going cold turkey can kill a person. Imagine there are a thousand similar girls in that city, and perhaps twice as many boys. Now multiply that by the number of cities in your country. Capital punishment for fent dealers? I’ll flick the switch, pull the trigger or engage whatever mechanism effectively accomplishes the task!

     Except that has never worked. The market is not deterred by criminal punishment even when the verdicts are harsh. Remember prohibition? Or how about Saudi Arabia where its a capital offence to commit adultery. Women are stoned for it or have their heads lopped off. Does that stop people having intramarital sex? No, not even close. Nothing stops people from having sex except death itself.

       We aren’t talking about having drinks or screwing around. We’re talking about killing over ten thousand young people in Canada per year – a hundred thousand in the states. If justice comes swiftly, it will work just fine.

         Totally understand Strider. If I thought it would work I might agree. Except though shall not kill. That is commandment six.
         Do you have any idea how many people have been locked up in the past because cops said they found drugs in their car or in their pocket? Even when it was not true. I think you should reconsider giving the Federal Government a license to kill. Have you not seen what they are doing already with existing powers? Its a bloody murder spree on planet Earth.

         No, the death penalty should not be reenacted because we do not have responsible authority any more.

           I’d trade the lives of a thousand fent dealers for a hundred thousand kids any time. The next year it would be a hundred dealers, the next ten. I take your point about the problems we have in the administration of justice, but allowing for the murders of so many young people is unconscionable, and in my mind the very hieghth of immorality.

           The Fentanyl thing is insane. Really crazy. The videos are shocking to me as we do not have that problem where I live. I even ask myself what they are putting inside the drugs. Are they injected? Are they full of nano particles or something else high tech? Addicts seem like easy victims to target and experiment on.

           But state sanctioned killing is the thin edge of the wedge. Give that power to the courts and it will be used liberally in the years to come. Any program that plans to exterminate 90 percent of the population is just looking for more means by which to carry out their deeds. What we need is to reign in the power of the state and reduce the list of crimes which qualify for serious punishment. We are seeing legal drift already. This is all following an old pattern by the way that occurs at turning points in history. I would not vote in favour even though I consider myself conservative. But most others probably will. The enticement is you get to kill obvious offenders like drug dealers but laws are never written so specifically. It will be just general enough that a wide net is cast to include people who never imagine they could end up on execution row.

           State sanctioned killing in Kanada is already in place and rampant. They call it “euthenasia” and “abortion.” It is simply killing, period. If the state is going to kill, it should take dead aim at those who deal in drugs – and kill as long as there are drug dealers.

           As far as the commandment “thou shalt not kill” it is a command to individuals not to kill other individuals. (Except for war, there is ALWAYS that.) The responsibility to take a life as the ultimate penalty for wrongdoing rests with the state, not the individual. Easy to argue against the death penalty, but then we do nothing to stop murdering babies day in, day out. Mankind is not known for its’ moral compass nor its’ consistency.

   What would decriminalizing fentanyl do, if sold via ABC stores (regulated)?
   Ie, is there a way to kill the profits from trafficking?
   Otherwise, I don’t have any idea how to cut off the flow.
   Sounds like putting dealers thru cold turkey would be one plan.
