Following a frantic two day search of military weapons stockpiles across the US, the Airforce finally made a last minute discovery of a single Sidewinder missile. Reports indicate the President was furious over the long delay. He immediately ordered the downing of “China Balloon One” over watery parts of South Carolina where it splashed helplessly into the sea. High fives were heard in Air Force bunkers and sweat was mopped from worried brows as they watched the last MX9 take out the dangerous blimp. But there were curses too. What if those Chinese build another one? How will we shoot it down next time?

Lol….I shouldn’t laugh but this was the dumbest story of 2023 so far. Imagine America being brought to its knees. Not by cutting edge aviation or space based weapons….but by big old fat Chinese weather balloons that make a slow march cross country before lighting up a surprise EMP on the Coast. Who says you need tech to be a giant killer? Wasn’t Goliath picked off by a slingshot? Our vulnerabilities are legion. But seriously, why did they wait until the device transited the entire continent before crashing in the sea? I know giants have slow reflexes…but come on mates !!
I think it was a fake China balloon just to turn up the rhetoric on China. They could have shot it down over land but the fragments would have been found with’made in the USA’. Just my theory.
Probably right. A crash on land risked someone getting a glimpse inside the thing. Or parts going astray that civilians might find. They are hiding something if they crash it in the ocean.
Got it! I know why they let it drift. To create public backlash. So next time there is a balloon or any ariel threat they can justify shooting it down over Canada claiming the risk to the US is too high. This is all about setting the stage for something else.
I am sure the Chinese weren’t just waiting for it to get back to China to download the info. It was transmitting in real time and Joe had to make sure China received all the info on our installations before they sent the Bitcoin payment to Hunter with the big guy’s 10% included.
