Jan 6th Propaganda
The Jan 6th propaganda is full force today as per this letter sent out to entire Department of Veterans Affairs:
Today I am reflecting on the insurrection that occurred at the Capitol Building on this date two years ago.
Democracy can often be noisy, slow, and frustrating. For me, the memories of this day are an important reminder of the need to be civil and respectful in how we approach people whose opinions differ from ours.
Veterans fought for our right to express our opinions freely. Our right to protest and make our voices heard is inherent in our rights as citizens, but so is the expectation and responsibility that we will do so peacefully. Peacefully does not mean quietly, but it does mean without violence.
Violent attacks on our fellow citizens, law enforcement officers, and elected officials—or threats of such attacks—are simply not part of acceptable discourse in the United States. As members of the VA family, we can set an example of civil and respectful behavior in our day-to-day interactions. Peaceful dialogue and discussion represent the strength and resilience of our democracy, and those are what will help us advance together.
I know that some of you reading this message might be affected more deeply and personally than others. If you feel overwhelmed or overcome by the memories of the attack on the Capitol two years ago, I encourage you to reach out to your colleagues and/or your leadership and seek support. You can also access the Employee Assistance Program for additional support services.
I want to share these VA resources to support staff and Veterans in your care:
• VA’s Employee Assistance Program provides counseling and referrals for all employees and their immediate family members.
• Veterans who receive care at VA may access VA Mental Health Services and/or engage with a mental health specialist at their local VA facility.
• Veterans who wish to connect with other Veterans may also visit a community-based VA Vet Center.
Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you today. I hope 2023 will bring us all greater peace and unity.

Note, we are all still required to wear masks. I don’t know if that will ever change.
We send ridiculous money to Ukraine yet I have to beg to get resources to take care of our Veterans.
