Why the masks …still?
Just back from grocery shopping and so many people still wearing masks? I used to think (back in the summer)- oh they are just neurotic but now I think what do you have that I’m going to catch? Will this insanity ever stop?

GLG, it’s the same here in Vancouver and I’m now convinced they will never take them off. Some of them are the terrified: those that actually believe that there’s this questionable virus continually rains down from the sky in the form of an invisible vapour. These are typically the older people, shuffling along with their beady eyes darting back and forth in search of anyone not wearing a similar face diaper.
For the younger ones, it has become an ingrained ethos of virtue-signalling, to the point where it has now defined who they are. If they doff the damn things, they have lost part of their identity.
In the car by themselves. Walking down the street. On the swimming pool deck. On toddlers in strollers. 2 of 3 people on the bus wearing the damn things. Gaaaaahhhhh 🙁
It drives me crazy and makes me furious to the point where a baseball bat comes into my imagination. If I could just accept that they are mentally ill and no different than a homeless person who parades around wrapped in a bedsheet, perhaps it wouldn’t incite such fury within me. But the reality is that these people are driving public policy and I live in anxiety that our asinine governments will reinstate the damn things even with all the studies out there proving they are worse than useless.
There are two parallel worlds out there.
I just met someone who was completely unaware of the Brandon meme.
And a critic of the admin no less.
Lots of folks devour nothing but bread and circuses. They are into escapism.
As for the masks, ask them if their barbed wire fencing keeps mosquitoes out of their yard.
LOL – perfect!!
There really are parallel worlds – at least people I see walking on my street, by my apartment don’t wear them. Maybe that’s why I was shocked to see so many wearing them in the store – and it was not crowded at all. Reality check I guess.
GMG – there is definitely some sort of mental illness, I think (I am not a professional)…I know I could not have a conversation with anyone that is still partaking in the insanity – I have no desire. If I was a PhD candidate what an amazing thesis subject this whole thing would be….
I am often tempted to say something to these people, but bite my tongue.
Maybe it’s better to greet them cheerfully. Maybe it could help draw them out of whatever mindless state that has possessed them. I don’t know. Maybe.
stand beside them and cough lots works for me. Sniffle and clear the throat freaks them out.
Haaaaaa love it! Good one, Highroller 🙂
I am sure you all remember the line
If Your underwear cant stop a fart ……..
