I don’t understand how in this day and age of digital media people like Fauci would tell such barefaced lies. Any number of videos they were in can be retrieved easily showing them saying the very things they’re being accused of. Fauci and people like him act as if nothing they’ve said in the past will ever be heard again unless they’re sitting in a court room on trial at some point in the distant future.
I don’t understand how in this day and age why there isn’t an effective mechanism for removing people in positions of public authority from office SWIFTLY when they lose the confidence of the people. And in cases of corruption or serious ethical violations, they should lose more than their jobs (like some portion of their pensions). Not a week goes by that some local politician isn’t fired for their job, but somehow they keep their large severance packages, pensions, often still even getting paid. All on the texpayer’s dime. Where is the taxpayers’ recourse? AND, of course, these contracts are being negotiated by other public sector employees, often without any accountability … hence the lax attitude.
