ONTARIO VAXX AND COVID STATS
I used to post regularly the Ontario Stats
I haven’t looked lately BUT get a load of THIS
You now need a “Licence” to view and post or otherwise share the DATA
And there are penalties ( Court of Law) if You don’t follow the rules of the “Licence”
I guess the Stats showing that the More vaxxed a person is the more likely he gets covid gets hospitalized and dies …was NOT good publicity
scroll down and you will see THIS before you can access the data that was for over 2 years unrestricted

It looks to me to be a standard “open” copyright license like the Open Commons license. Anyone can use the data for whatever they like but you have to give attribution to the Government of Ontario as the source “Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Ontario.”
Also, similar to most open or “free” copyright conditions you’re not allowed to give the impression that the Government of Ontario endorses or agrees with whatever you’re saying or doing because you’re using their data, like making your chart made from the data look like it’s an “offical” government chart.
I don’t know if any of it is actually legitimate and enforceable because I don’t think you can copyright “facts” and data must be facts in my mind. In other words, no one owns data and therefore they can’t put conditions on the use of it like the author of a creative work can put conditons on the use of their writing, image, song, etc…
In short, it doesn’t put any real restrictions on anyone with respect to usage of the data. Open Source software almost always has a license like this to prevent people putting their own restrictions on it and removing other people’s freedom to use it without restriction.
All I can make from their information pages is that they want people to give them credit for the data that they’re using from them to create charts or write news stories. I can’t see any other application of what they’ve written in their license. But, I’m not a lawyer, or anything else.
Well why did they wait 2.5 years for this to become necessary and why are they mentioning Ontario Courts to be the arbitrer
Doesn’t pass the smell test
