THEY ARE THIS STUPID
From Jeff Childers
You may have heard that Trump advisor Peter Navarro was arrested, leg-ironed, and processed this week after he objected to the House J6 Committee’s subpoena on the grounds of executive privilege. Why is the story important? I’ll try to break it down for you.
After Navarro said he wouldn’t testify under subpoena due to executive privilege, the clinically-insane members of the House responded in a fit of pique and ordered the DOJ to go get Navarro and lock him up — an unprecedented, unconstitutional request — which the DOJ unquestioningly carried out like good little doggies.
But DOJ and all law enforcement authority lie within the executive branch. They don’t take orders from the House, much less from a legislative committee. And the Judicial branch holds the authority for ruling on whether privileges have been property invoked, or, for that matter, the authority to sentence people to jail.
NOT the Legislative branch. It doesn’t have any of those authorities. On purpose.
So here we are again, the Biden Administration and its sycophantic co-conspirators in the J6 Committee have handed us another Constitutional crisis.
To give you an idea of the historic nature of Navarro’s arrest, back in 2012, the ENTIRE HOUSE held Eric Holder in contempt — by a bipartisan vote of 255-67. But Holder wasn’t arrested, he frolicked in Disneyland instead. I’m not even making that up. For a reminder, here’s a 2012 US News story headlined “Eric Holder Is Defying the Law by Resisting Subpoena.“
So this week, Navarro, who was pulled out of his house and clapped in leg irons, was only CHARGED with misdemeanor contempt, and not by the full House like Holder, but only by a tiny partisan House committee. Not a bi-partisan committee. A small democrat committee.
The differential treatment of the two former officials, Holder and Navarro, has led some wacky conspiracy theorists to start claiming there are really two separate justice systems in this country, one for leftists and another one for everybody else. Crazy talk, I know. But even the dainty conservative elite are calling it “selective prosecution.”
DOJ Plays Hardball on Peter Navarro Arrest | National Review
Navarro is a jackass, but the criminal charges smack of selective prosecution — not to mention the gratuitous manner of his arrest.

So does this mean Republican-dominated committees can start subpoenaing liberals and having them arrested if they don’t comply? Or does your political party also have to control the executive branch to get that power?
The Hill published an op-ed yesterday by Jonathan Turley with the eye-opening headline, “Subpoena Wars: Washington Is on a Path to Mutually Assured Destruction.” He made a very sensible point about the democrats’ cavalier “live for today” attitude:
[U]sing subpoenas against each other … was viewed as a step toward mutually assured destruction if House members unleashed inherent investigatory powers on each other. [But] House Democratic leaders [have now] shattered that long tradition of restraint despite the fact that they may gain little from the effort … The targeting of fellow members now will remove one of the few remaining restraints on unbridled partisan rage.
Unbridled partisan rage. That doesn’t sound too good.
The democrats are handling the January 6th witch hunt, I mean investigation just like they’re handling the war with Russia — through a series of increasingly aggressive escalations. Unlike some folks, I DO NOT think it is all a carefully-calculated scheme to collapse society so that a marxist utopia can rise from the ashes like a mutated Phoenix.
Instead, I think the democrats currently in charge are drooling, mentally-handicapped children who couldn’t manage the banana stand from Arrested Development without adult supervision. For all the evidence you need, just LISTEN to them talk.
Right now a bunch of you are thinking that I’m being naive. But come on. How could these people possibly execute a society-collapsing marxist master-plan? I respectfully suggest that your problem is you don’t want to believe they could possibly be this stupid.
They are. They’re this stupid.

They are. They’re this stupid.” I believe the author is the one who IS being naive. They are ONLY this stupid if it comes back to bite them in the ass. That can’t happen right now because even assuming the Republicans take back Both the House and the Senate in November, the DEMS and Biden and or Harris still control the Executive Branch until Jan. 2025. So even if the Supreme Court rules against this bullshit arrest of Navarro and similiar outrageous behavior there is little anyone can do about it for at least two more years. The numerous examples of DEMS breaking the law and getting away with it while Republicans get arrested, charged and in some cases convicted for phony crimes has been going on for a few decades at least.
