Do you trust Pierre Poilievre?

Since his big announcement several weeks ago to run for leader of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC), Mr. Poilievre has been saying all the right things.

He’s been talking about shrinking government, fighting inflation, defunding the CBC, giving people control of their lives back, and making Canada the “freest” country on earth.

But does he really stand behind those soundbites, or are they just empty political promises?

Over the weekend, Mr. Poilievre held a campaign stop at Country Boy restaurant in Kitchener, Ontario. The event drew a significant crowd — it was so big that a good portion of those who showed up had to wait outside.

So he decided to host a secondary rally in the parking lot outside the restaurant for those who didn’t make the cut to get in.

I attended that event and was even able to put a question directly to the leadership hopeful asking why conservative voters should trust him.
