   We are fast approaching the most crucial election in Canada’s history. The
   single most critical issue will decide how your future will play out, how
   you and your children and grandchildren will live in the world, and
   whether or not we, as individuals and as a society, will have any freedom
   of choice in our lives. This particular issue is overlooked and
   misunderstood by most of us.

   What is the issue? It is the hotly debated digital ID card, sometimes
   called the “vaccine passport” even though it is NOT about being vaccinated
   or unvaccinated and it is NOT about helping you move easily through the
   world (which is what real passports do). It is about data.

   Calling this supremely invasive technology a “vaccine pass” is like
   calling the Titanic a rowboat. It sounds innocent enough. But it’s not the
   same as the vaccine cards we had as school children. Those were a simple
   record of vaccines. This is not a paper record with a few checkmarks in
   boxes. This is a digital permission slip that may start out recording your
   vaccine status but can easily be extended to collect all of your personal,
   financial, health and other data into one central agency. In exchange, you
   receive a QR code that will govern every aspect of your life. There is no
   indication of how many injections you will be required to have – one every
   six months? One per month? Per week? Per day? Who decides? There is also
   no indication of who will have access to your data, how it will be kept
   secure, or what recourse you will have if it is hacked. Further, it means
   whoever can access your data (governments, corporations, foreign
   countries, malicious hackers) will have complete control over your life
   and finances.

   Don’t believe me? It’s happening right now in China where people are
   surveilled and controlled at every moment, since the state has full access
   to their bank accounts, email, social media accounts, and all personal data.

   In China, 13 million people are on the blacklist for such dastardly crimes
   as jaywalking, reposting a message on social media, sorting garbage into
   the wrong containers, not visiting their parents “often enough”, losing a
   court case, and so forth. Being blacklisted means fines are imposed, your
   ID card can be blocked (which completely shuts you out of all aspects of
   life), your bank account can be cut off (so no food shopping or ability to
   pay for anything), and/or you can’t fly or board a train, buy property or
   go on vacation. According to Marketplace.org, the system is wildly
   arbitrary and is a powerful weapon in the hands of the government, since
   there is no warning about being blacklisted. Getting off the blacklist
   ranges from difficult to impossible, depending on who you know.

   Is this a system we want in Canada? Some of my friends tell me they
   believe, “It’ll never go that far.”

   Yet the Chinese surveillance state very much appeals to Justin Trudeau,
   who was caught on video telling an audience of Canadians that the style of
   government he admires most is the Chinese Communist dictatorship. Why?
   Because it’s so much easier to get things done. That seems a very odd
   statement for the leader of a democratic country to make unless he is
   planning to scrap our democracy and turn this country into a communist
   tyranny. In such a future, criticizing the government would be grounds for
   being blacklisted. So much for free speech, freedom of thought, and the
   critical thinking required for full participation in society.

   Considering the reach of the digital ID and the fact that the “vax
   passport” is just the toe in the door to introducing the full digital ID
   package, do you trust the government enough to believe they won’t take it
   that far? What government can resist the lure of total control of its
   citizens? (Back in 1920, income tax was supposed to be a “temporary
   measure”. We all know how well that worked out. It was brought in after
   WWI to pay war expenses but somehow it never went away and is eating up
   more and more of your income every year.)

   Here’s the harsh reality: if digital ID aka “vaccine passports” are
   brought into Canada, it won’t matter whether you are vaccinated or
   unvaccinated, because the vaccine is not the point. I can’t emphasize this
   enough. The point is to have total control of Canadians by the government
   and whichever global corporations influence it (getting elected to high
   office is very expensive). These corporations operate behind the scenes
   and have no responsibility to anyone but their shareholders. There is no
   appeal. That is why this issue is so crucial.

   The time to decide is NOW. The election is coming in September. Ask your
   political candidates their position on the “vaccine passport” (phone their
   office if they don’t have public meetings). If they want the vax passport,
   tell them you and your friends won’t vote for them, no matter which party
   they belong to. It’s possible they don’t know what the implications are,
   so ask if they are aware of the long-term possibilities. Let them know
   their bad decision now will affect not only them but all of their
   descendants. Do they want their children to be digital “resources” in the
   internet of things, where even humans become things? I don’t wish that on
   any Canadian.

   Many of us don’t realize we have a charter of rights and freedoms that has
   gone out the window over the past year and a half. These rights and
   freedoms are our birthright. They are NOT granted to us by the government.
   It’s our job to make sure we hold onto them, because without them, we are
   nothing more than slaves. A digital ID would violate our rights and
   freedoms in the worst possible ways – and forever change the life we once
   knew – and for the worse, making us less than human.

   We have a chance to stop this now, but the window of opportunity is
   rapidly narrowing. Please think carefully about your choice of candidate,
   question that person carefully, and vote for your freedom!
