Not Surprised
As soon as I read this story I said to myself I bet they are made in China. This is what I found.
- According to a product safety alert released by Health Canada on Wednesday, the affected products were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores from May to October 2020. The fans were manufactured in China and distributed through a company called King of Fans in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Just like Covid 19, the question becomes was it accidental from incompetence, or more likely intentional? https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/home-depot-ceiling-fans-recalled-after-blades-detach-injuring-people-while-use
Intentional by whom? The management of Home Depot or the management of China? Or both?
…
Slight subject shift:
(Years ago I remember one or more persons commenting several times in Zero Hedge, claiming to be happy Westerner(s) now living in China, made the assertion that one could find Chinese-made manufactured items of superb quality in China, but it was a matter of getting what one paid for. The contention was that US corporations considered their customers to be near subhumans to be bilked, to be sold only cheap trash — that the Chinese factories were given the specs by US chains for stuff that would be the absolute cheapest that would however look good enough to sell at chain stores — elite in China however could buy the good stuff made according to good specs in China.
I have no deep knowledge of China. My hunch is that these comments are probably true. My hunch is that the Chinese internal overlords like having their own nationally produced luxury goods and don’t like having to import them.)
