In a recent video interview, Dr Simone Gold of the medical group America’s Frontline Doctors, when asked how to find their web site spelled out the exact domain name rather than letting the host tell everyone to “Google it”. I found this interesting and made a comparison with Duck, Duck, Go and Google.  I searched on “america’s frontline doctors” and compared the results from both search engines:

Obviously Google is doing something here.  The Frontline Doctor’s site does appear further down on Google at the 9th place but to get there you have to scroll past what you can see is entirely negative opinions of the group.  Why?  Is this better or more relevant or more highly rated search results? I didn’t search on “review of…” or “commentary of…” “Lies said about…” so why does Google rank all these higher?  The Google search algorithm is famed for its intelligence and highly developed state and mysterious thought patterns which no one seems to be able to crack and exploit.

Duck, Duck, Go on the other hand takes you right to their site and even makes other search suggestions related to what you’re searching for.

Anyhow, its in things like this that I really begin to feel the hand of Big Brother in the world.  Something I rarely noticed before all this Covid stuff.  It’s too much in our faces now.
