There is, however, at least one inaccuracy with the presentation:
Mikhailovich may be an economist and a monetary historian, but he is no astronomer. He is incorrect about the North Star being a navigational beacon for 10,000 years.
In astronomy, axial precession is a gravity-induced, slow, and continuous change in the orientation of an astronomical body’s rotational axis. In particular, it can refer to the gradual shift in the orientation of Earth’s axis of rotation in a cycle of approximately 25,772 years.
Therefore, because of axial precession the star Vega will be our north star 12,000 years from present, and Polaris was definitely not the North star 10,000 years ago. Just to be clear.
