At 8am – 9am British Summer Time, I was on Kitco just lurking around and gold was up 108 GBP. I couldn’t believe it. Just as I couldn’t believe the Brexit victory.

Just looking on Kitco, I noticed that gold had a high at $1344.60 and came back and back-tested guess what level? $1307.90, 10 cents frmm $1308! The to $1325 and back for a retest, $1313 so far. Wouldnt’t that be just peachy? To break $1308 and then come back and back-test it from the top?

British Pound is $1.38, what do you know? Support from 2008-2009 post-Lehman crash.

Off topic:

I promised myself I wouldn’t stay up overnight but when I heard the Sunderland results from North East England at about 12:30 in the wee hours, I was surprised at how fast they had counted the vote there. These precincts have a little race as to who can get the result out first. Most don’t both er to compete in this. Anyway the presenter asked about the Cardiff (Wales’ capital city) result and the pollster said, “Well they usually take a while, maybe sometime next week!”

It was a shining example of how democracy should be done for all the conspiracy theorists out there.

They had this numbers guy on BBC radio and with only about 2% of the results in he said you know, our model is saying that the Brexit campaigns in these areas has outperformed the modelled result. If this becomes a trend, Remain are in trouble. Once 10% of the results were in, he basically said they were likely (but not certain) to win because they already had a decent cross section of political demography in the results. He was utterly brilliant, some sort of pollster number cruncher guy. We need someone like him in the Treasury. His forecasts were way better than anything they ever produce. Every time it got to the headlines, the headline was more cautious than what the guy was saying but soon they started to mention the mood in the Leave and Remain camps and it was becoming clear early on that a Leave vote was favoured.

It’s great when you have an election with loads of people counting up little pieces of paper in front of all their opponents and some guy in front of an old radio microphone reading out the result on radio, live in each of a few hundred different places. It’s not easy to cheat.

I am so proud of my country today more than any other day in my life, whatever happens because of it, stuff it, don’t care.

Then Farage came on to speak and made a total ass wipe of himself.
