Britain is diminishing in importance, so you are right to say “Who cares?” if you are not in the UK, though if you are in Germany you might see a bit of the industry come back to the UK that has been decimated since it joined Europe in 1973 and you might see a more competitive UK.
As a Brit though, I think it is a choice between freedom and tyranny, so it is important.
I don’t think a Brexit will happen even if there is a Leave vote and I doubt that there will be a Leave vote. The propaganda machine will be working overtime 24/7 to push the meme of “Brexit fans are terrorists” this coming week after last Thursday’s incident. Even if there is a Leave vote, I don’t think it is legally binding so it won’t happen anyway. The government will squirm out of it by negotiating some EU concessions that will assuage the people.
If there is a Remain vote it will just be business as usual. The premium on gold will surely come off the price, the GB Pound will rally and stock markets will almost undoubtedly make a move up – but will they just move up quickly to some already in place resistance level?
If there is a Brexit vote there could be market turbulence because of the unknown time-frame and consequences of Britain going free out of EU jail. Sometimes the prisoner is afraid just before their release date that they will not cope out in the world. However, I think the country will not care about the markets as it will be too busy partying for the next month.
I am sure the spreadbetting websites are all loaded up with amateur speculators, most of whom will probably get completely creamed by the big traders on big gaps up and down in various markets. There could be big moves either way. I would say it is extremely risky to trade anything on leverage this week. Just forget it and go down the pub.
In the long run it doesn’t matter: we are all dead.
Your view is grim and I hope you are wrong–Socrates predicted several years ago that this Presidential Election cycle
in the US would be the first time an outsider could become President—it’s a global reaction against the Politcal establishment to ‘throw the bastards’ out just as Socrates predicted–Trump has received 14 million primary votes–more than any prior Rebublican candidate has ever received and the Politcal establishment is furious, hysterical, angry and full of revenge–they are whining and crying like crybabies and trying to plot snatching the prize from Trump at the Convention –their last idea was to try and bribe Trump to quit for $150,000,000 and the fact that the voters want Trump means nothing to these party bosses —
So the horrible dark side of the EU experiment is finally becoming clear–vast youth unemployment, vast influx of immigrants who will work for less and don’t value the freedoms brought , so many centuries ago, by the Magna Carta , people crushed by unelected bureaucrats calling the shots–people like Trump, Le Pen talking about what everyone is seeing and feeling instead of no real discussion about anything just political correctness ad nueseum!!!
Who cares.
Go Cav’s.

Thanks Dave.
I’m looking at it as though the charts know which way it will go in advance. ( all news is factored into the market beforehand theory )
I can see things lining up pattern-wise and it jives with what you said.
By Wednesday it will become more obvious.
Go Cav’s ( Normally I could give a rats ass about sports but this is a good one ) 🙂
