I use Netdania all the time and never Noticed the COT metric on all the charts…fantastic !
Last 2 times the COTs went to these levels of Long Specs and Short Commercials…look what the price did
And only fall 2007 got to this level of commercial short and Spec long as quickly as we just did. Nice post Fully.

I dont know if im reading the chart right but it looks like the commercials are always short when the price of gold is moving up.
Exactly my point…When Open Interest is rising , Trader Dan Explains , It means just THAT
Specs are buying because they are interested…Spec buying has to mean Commercial Selling obviously
So its the total open interest we should watch…if it rises the Price rises . Simple . makes sense
More buying = Higher price. Commercials include Miners …they sell as price rises to hedge some production
which is prudent…but they are not losing money by being “Short” as the have the gold physically to sell.
Commercials are ALWAYS short !
Yep. Look at the smash down in price 2012/2013. Look how rapidly the COTs imploded in 2013. So with this huge rally it only makes sense that COTs and OI are expanding massively here. I really don’t get all the fuss. Still thinking we can easily see a rout in gold to 1180 regardless.
