are sneaky with this one. They hate anybody who owns extra real estate, out of province owners….. now they are offering a rebate to renters. Yes, renters can now SNITCH on their landlords.
Fill in the forms and send them off and the gov’t can now double check to make sure that the owner is claiming the rental income on the income tax papers filed. My neighbor was in the bank looking to re-fi his mortgage and the bank needs to see his income tax papers showing that he has claimed the rent money . They keep tightening the noose.
For the 2023 and subsequent tax years, you can claim the renter’s tax credit for the tax year if you meet the following criteria:
- During the year:
- You occupied an eligible rental unit in B.C. under a tenancy agreement, licence, sublease agreement or similar arrangement
- You occupied an eligible rental unit in B.C. for at least 6 one-month periods. You may occupy different eligible rental units during the year, for a total of at least 6 one-month periods. Any occupancy period of less than one month does not count as a one-month period
- Rent was paid for that rental unit
COMMUNISM IS CONTAGEOUS ON THE LEFT COAST
Communism thrives in our cities, just as it does in America. The rest of the country, including the rest of B.C. is very conservative.
It appears to be plenty healthy everywhere in Canada with the exception of Alberta
Like I said, boom. It’s only in the cities. B.C. for example, like Washington, is very conservative except for the coastal cities. Take away the lower mainland, and you have Alberta.
I think Trump’s approach will be through Alberta, perhaps via referendum, then Saskatchewan and finally B.C. The first two are likely to acquiesce, the third will fail due to lower mainland voters. Whereupon Trump will carve off that precinct, to welcome the rest of B.C. to the fold. Subsequently, the lower mainland will cave. If Trump is serious, he will win the west, and perhaps that is all he is interested in.
I would imagine Trump’s purpose is to connect Alaska to the lower forty eight. There are various paths. The entire program is dependent on the seriousness of the proposition. If Trump is serious, I’m a fucking American!
