US Thanksgiving brings the crowds out from WA. Tourists and property owners.
I have known the WA property owners since I arrived on the mountain years ago. They were in the majority in my social group.
We socialized and recreated together. The past four years during the Reign of Insanity I was shunned, excluded and basically treated like a leper. Apologies to lepers.
This year as if the past 4 years never happened there is a calm among these people. Sure I have met some Americans who have various degrees of TDS but they are strangers and the odd man out. I believe there is relief that the election is over and there was a clear mandate not a bitterly contested one. Could it be that deep down these people, all Dems, knew something was seriously wrong (no kidding) but couldn’t just put their finger on the problem. It was an embarrassment they likely do not want to dredge up.
The test would be inviting a few over to the house when GMG returns from the coast with her approval of course.
Is this the same experience others here are noticing?

Even though they voted for Kacka they are relieved she did not win. How fucked up is that ?
Its a real phenomenae. There have been no riots or organized protests wither. Just the obligatory meltdown videos from the freaks who have been abandoned now.

I am frankly shocked as I was expecting all hell to breakout among their followers. I misjudged their response.
Maybe it is to come.
Lots of closet Trumpsters too, who are now more comfortable expressing (subtle) support knowing they are part of majority, AND that the minority will soon be relieved of the power to engage in immediate reprisals. Next step for them will be to watch Trump remove their capacity to engage in them down the road.
It will be awhile before conversations open up with people you would expect to see regularly (family and friends with TDS). Random strangers are easier to open up to.
We will not forget.
Until some of these people accept personal responsibility for what happened, and I’m talking locally, then we cannot move forward.

And yes _ I got two shots under severe duress. Not to have taken the shots would have been the destruction of my family.
