CNN surfed an evolving narrative yesterday in a story headlined, “Analysis: Bad news mounts for Ukraine across the frontlines. But Russia is under pressure too.” It was gloom, right from the first short paragraph, which reported: “The bad news keeps coming. Wherever Kyiv looks, Moscow seems to have the advantage.” Now they tell us.

What are captive media’s war propagandists up to? What’s up with all this doom and gloom? It is simple: They are preparing for the end.

Every Proxy War article this morning included the same theme: things are bad for both Ukraine and Russia. It’s all just a horrible, pointless war of grinding attrition that needs to stop. While plucky president Zelensky is ready to talk, dastardly Putin refuses to negotiate.

Yesterday, corporate media widely reported a revealing comment from the green-sweatshirted resistance leader. Forbes ran its version under the headline, “Zelensky Says Ukraine-Russia War Ends ‘Faster’ With Trump.”

Funny, that’s what Trump said, too. It was a telling admission. The Z-man also announced, for the first time, that the war must end in 2025 “through diplomatic means.” It was quite a change in tone. Just last month, Zelensky was touring the Western capitols with his “Victory Plan” in hand.

To say Zelensky’s brash, warmongering tone has suddenly become muted is like noticing that Tim Walz has suddenly become invisible. The new Proxy War narrative is finally catching up to what many of us have consistently predicted for two years now, starting long before hundreds of billions were flushed down the deep state’s septic tank.

This new narrative suggests a corporate media scramble to prepare for a new President Trump delivering on his promise of quickly ending the Proxy War. In other words, despite widespread mocking, they actually believe Trump will do it. They are racing against the clock to quickly scrape together a narrative that peace was inevitable, that Trump just arrived at the opportune moment to claim the credit.

This sudden reversal in Ukraine’s victory prospects is more of the Trump effect. The man has not even been sworn in yet, and he somehow keeps winning.
