This was supposed to be a very close call for the “Conservatives” in this Most Conservative of all Provinces..in fact the polls showed NDP winning…but the Sask Party crushed them..some good news

I was there this summer. Daily pot smokers will now lose their drivers license for 3 days with auto impound with the swab test. The THC stays in the mouth for longer time frame and the test comes out positive. Unbeatable in court . Police use drones to fly over boaters to check for open beer and nail them at shore. The ‘no fun’ province it has become. 12 beer now $50. Speed cams all along the freeways grabbing money from the pockets ta boot. Anytime of day they pull you over for a burnt out signal light and mandatory alcohol and drug swab test, senior citizens in rural towns are getting the breathalyzer at 10:00 am, grandparents who cannot muster enough air to blow get hauled away to the shop for more tests, shithole province it has become.
On April 1, 2024, the Saskatchewan RCMP will be conducting roadside Mandatory Alcohol Screenings (MAS) on all lawful traffic stops in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction on an on-going basis. In 2018, the MAS became part of the Criminal Code Section 320.27(2), being a lawful demand of a breath sample from any driver of a motor vehicle, without the need for reasonable suspicion. Drivers will not be pulled over for the sole purpose of completing a MAS – the MAS will only be requested once a driver is pulled over for other various traffic violations (i.e. speeding, careless driving, brake lights not working, etc.).
1,594 drivers faced suspensions in 2023, compared to 76 in 2020
A veteran Saskatoon criminal defence lawyer says frequent cannabis users are correct to be concerned. Mark Brayford said he knows many cannabis users see the driving laws and application as unfair.
“If you’re smoking pot four times a week, you’re going to have to resign yourself that you can’t legally drive a car. It’s that simple,” he said in an interview.
“There isn’t a period of time that you can safely wait if you’re going to be a frequent user.”
At the same time, Brayford said frequent cannabis users who test positive on a roadside swab and only have their licence and vehicle taken away for three days should consider themselves lucky to not be facing criminal charges.
Wow…can you imagine how worse it would get with an NDP Govt ?
