Switzerland is set to join the European Sky Shield Initiative, a project aimed at creating a shared missile defense system for Europe, as announced by the Swiss government on Friday.

This is a type of co-ordinated international project to spread citizens money around to powerful friends of government. They will start development at least two generations behind the Russians, from whom they wish to be protected, and in about thirty years they will have produced a product that is five or six generations behind the Russians. In other words, they will never have a serious air defence, which is fine because unless they attack Russia, Russians want nothing to do with them.
