Just the latest example of the regulatory capture/extortion loop of our corrupt system. Everyday (seemingly) is a constant flow of announcements of various companies and other institutions having to pay hundreds of millions (many close to a billion) of dollars in fines and penalties.

The new Congress needs to pass legislation that mandates that ALL fines, penalties and fees that result from administrative rulings, lawsuits and court actions be required to go towards reducing the national debt.

No longer should agencies such as the SEC, FDA etc. get any of the proceeds from their regulatory actions.
