Renewed Siberian Salutations!
Most recently, I’ve been moving around the edges of Lake Baikal. Currently, I’m in Ulan-Ude, the capital of the special region of Buryatia. I’m in the middle of three days of travel, the shortest way to get from where I just was on the northeast corner of the colossal lake to a place a mere 85 miles away as the crow flies, but blocked from going the most direct way by Lake Baikal itself and by a roadless mountain range on the northeast corner of the lake. So, long though it may be, I take the path of least resistance 😉

The purple wildflower growing amongst the mushrooms is Chamaenerion angustifolium – aka Fireweed. Fireweed is the floral emblem of Yukon Territory, Canada.
Fireweed honey is considered the champagne of monofloral honey. Fireweed provides a calming an anti-inflammatory effect on your skin and body. It is also a powerful natural moisturizer.
Well, I like fireweed, I like honey, I like champagne and I also like the champagne of anything, so I will make it a point to get some monofloral fireweed honey!
In reading your description, to me it seems like one of the obvious best ways to enjoy the full effects of fireweed honey is to drip and drizzle it all over your honey, then lovingly lick off every last bit of the sweetness. No doubt it will do wonders for the skin and body and everything, including the dispelling of any lurking inflammation. And, the resulting calming effect will be out of this world.
Thanks, silver fox, for the great idea!
PS I ran into a lot of fireweed in the northwest of Russia, so you’ll see more of it in future galleries.
What an amazing place all the way up there in Northwestern Russia
A place few North Americans have ever heard of let alone visited !.
