Pepe Escobar: BRICS+ Cities Unite in Kazan, Ushering in New Era of Cooperation
The idea, by Kazan mayor Ilsur Metshin, was as simple as quite revolutionary. Why not profit from the year of the Russian presidency of BRICS – with the first BRICS + summit taking place in Kazan next October – to come up with a new association uniting BRICS+ cities? At least 200 mayors from 21 countries will attend the International Forum of BRICS+ Cities, which is opening in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
The objective of the new association is to advance closer cooperation on several fields – from economy, culture and education to ecology, waste management and tourism. Like a giant city-to-city running dialogue – based crucially, to quote comrade Xi Jinping, on “peoples to peoples’ exchanges”.
“The organization aims to establish productive relations and exchange of experience among 18,260 cities and improve the quality of life of 2.6 billion people. It will become one of the largest associations of cities in the world. For the period of its formation it will be headed by the Mayor of the Russian city of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin,” the Forum’s press service said.
Previously unimagined synergies are evolving from these new cooperative arraignments. For how many decades will we stagnate on the outside of this new world?
How disingenuous does our multicultural nonsense seem now that we are afraid to deal with other countries on an equal basis. Our elites are willing to destroy our cultures through mass immigration, but God forbid we meet all countries on an equal footing. They want us all to be grey, but we are multicoloured, and we’re going to stay that way!
Just as an aside, I regularly walk through the grey areas of our multicultural nonsense. Truthfully, grey areas are almost predominantly white. They lie on sidewalks, drug addled and pathetic. Some are standing, often bent at the waist, almost unmoving, meagre belongings at their feet. No one pays any attention to them at all. What the hell can anyone do? Talk to them… they make no sense. Feed them… of course, but they get food. Give them money…you may as well give it to their dealers. Everyone knows what I know. They need institutional care, but there ain’t no money for that! We have a couple of million immigrants to take care of every year! Do you think we’re made of money?
