Since populist pushback against CBDC’s is rising, the PTB have unleashed a war on cash, hoping to gradually wear down resistance. This is the first time I have heard about a “reverse” ATM, where you deposit cash to get a debit card, after a fee is taken off the top. I could actually understand the argument that for convenience, accounting for and tracking large numbers of vendors handling cash, as well as safety purposes, stadiums, concert halls etc. could have cashiers in the lobby and or these reverse ATM’s to make everyone pay with cards, but since it benefits you the company, don’t charge anything or at least no more than a few cents. Just another way to screw the public customers who are supporting your business.
