Gawd. Just received a mailing from our veterinarian in Kelowna.
Apparently the CDC, in their wisdom (eyes rolling) has decided that, as of Aug 1, a rabies certificate is insufficient. Now, if Canadians want to bring the family dog along on a trip, they have to bring:
-proof of rabies shot
-proof of microchip
-a picture of the dog (apparently the real thing isn’t enough, now you have to bring a picture too)
-a CDC import form, filled out no more than 10 days before but no less than 2
-a letter of “endorsement” by your vet certifying that your country is either rabies-free or low-risk

Our vet did send a CDC link as proof, and I did read it, and it’s all true. And yes I know I should have included the link, but I’m sitting here at my UK accommodation struggling to figure out how to do that and I gave up trying after 10 min. Columbia isn’t here to help me 🙁

So, hey, bring all your ill-egals across, no problem. But screw any Canadian families who are just trying to bring Fido along and spend some money having a holiday in the US.
