In summary, you literally cannot trust anything you read, see or hear now unless you can verify it in person with your own eyes. The deepfakes are scary good now. There is so much AI generated content on youtube already, especially news stories. Admittedly a lot of it is still extremely crude, but I am sure it will get a lot better. And if you look in the comments section, there are usually chatbot accounts making posts and responses (usually tied to some scam), but I am sure a lot of people fall for it.
All of this AI content uses footage or information from other videos. At some point, AI will be using other AI’s videos to generate content, so you can see that this could become a serious issue for many reasons.
Perhaps someone will invent a tool that reviews a video or recording to determine if it’s been AI’d or not……..
