Rob Kientz says that at recent PDAC, word is that Tesla and other companies, are not only buying silver directly from silver miners, they are funding some of the actual silver mine development.(From interview with Andrew McGuire)
Sounds like they might be pursuing the silver zinc batteries and moving away from lithium oxide. The silver zinc batteries have a number of advantages over lithium including no thermal runaway problems and longer run times.
Great point. I have long felt that lithium is too unstable and has been overhyped, investment wise. There are likely to be many newer battery technologies that will end up making lithium batteries obsolete. Over how long a timeframe it takes to do so, is the question?
