   It does have a feel similar to 2008 in many ways, most notably the miners starting downward before general equities and relative to gold.

   I’ve learned a super important lesson over the last 25 years in the markets–investing based on an inevitably is a fools game because the timing of when “everyone finally gets it” is absolutely impossible to predict. It’s like trying to make a call of when a huge dam will break based on a hairline crack.

   Another example is that we know for a certainty that life on earth ends when the sun will die. When do you start planning for that eventuality? when does everyone finally panic?

   True.
   But you SHOULD be able to discern when Everyone is demonstrably NOT READY.
   (Big turns DO NOT come out of the blue. Setups develop clearly)
   But my charts can only seem to flag when they MIGHT BE READY.
   What I can’t do is know which of the various Starting Blocks I detect, turns out to be the real one. (The one where volume comes in.)
   So I focus on reacting quickly when the real one strikes.
   You have to be patient and methodical.
