   While I agree with the case made for gold stocks, here is the single biggest takeaway. “The average annual gold price has increased over 20% since 2011.” So, since 2011 after a huge upward move in gold for ten years, gold bullion has avg 20% annual gains. This from money, not an investment vehicle. All you need to know is that gold bullion protected your purchasing power while increasing your wealth at a rate better than equities and got you out of the system, where they are about to steal everything.(The Great Taking)Why screw around with miners or any othe stocks, bonds etc.?

   Meant to say increased over 20% not averaged 20%. Big difference but the point is you beat inflation while getting out of the system.

     20% gains over 12 years does NOT get you a beat over inflation. Not even close.

     “compelling investment case” is what those with vested interests fall back on when the technicals point the other way. Which for mine, right now they do. And they will, for a good bit longer.

     If and when energy prices (costs) bottom, miner profitability will be further impaired. That could well be the bigger story looking ahead.

     Gold itself probably depends more on rates, and rate cut optimism looks to have overshot. Dollar inflation looks likely to have become entrenched. New highs for yields are probably some ways off still, but those look baked in to me, for some point not that far down the road.

   The author, and I agreed, chose 2011 which was after a ten year huge bull market in gpld bullion price. I believe the purpose of choosing that starting point was to show the value of 20%, even after a huge bull move. Had 2000 or some other point in time been chosen the gains were much higher. Gold outperforms inflation over any meaningful period of time.

   For those who follow gaps, it appears that Gold may close the gap today.
   I’m neutral on that theory.
