Colonel Earl G. Matthews, who served as the senior legal adviser to Major General William J. Walker, the leader of the Washington D.C. National Guard during the events of January 6th, 2021, has directed criticism towards former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.

Matthews has accused Milley of failing to adequately control the protest that occurred on that day.

Additionally, Matthews drew a comparison between Milley, now retired, and the fictional character Don Emilio Barzini from “The Godfather”, portraying Milley in a similar light to the character who was a key adversary of Don Vito Corleone in the movie.

“The problem was not with Donald Trump; it’s Mark Milley and the Army leadership in control. They stopped the Guard from coming then lied about it and said the Guard acted at sprint speed.”
