In his defence . he represents less than Half of Half of the House
So on this vote he has NO influence at all
It is the whole Millitary Budget …no way they can recess without funding the Millitary ..
Over half of the Republicans are Rinos ( controlled by neocons) so they were always going to vote for this bill
Also the Democrats were split ..a good chunk of them votted Nay.
In their view it wasn’t woke enough.
IMHO Johnson knew the Bill would pass so he supported it as is.
Politics is a devious and wicked game of give and take.
Where he DID have influence was regading Impeachment and he won that one unanimously ….he had to have virtually ALL of his causus on board for that.
I am sure there were holdouts who demanded he support this Military funding to vote for Impeachment hearings.
Shall see what comes next. But they have recessed now until ’24 without funding Ukraine and Israel wars
